Hello.
On a sunny but cold afternoon, he decided to fulfill his civic duty and vote in the elections and in the referendum, which he considered equally important.
There were a dozen or so people milling around in his polling station, on the right side, behind a row of tables covered with green cloth sat members of the electoral commission with the names of the streets in the district, he approached "his" (the last one on the left), greeted him nicely, gave the address and he presented his ID card. The young lady sitting there reminded him of his primary school biology teacher who would blush very much when discussing female and male (back then they used such nasty terms to distinguish between the sexes!) organs, but who would scold naughty students very harshly during breaks - until he looked at her more closely. in fact, there was a similarity!
The lady checked the data and asked in a confidential whisper - all the cards?
A bit surprised, he replied yes, but he managed to ask - why are you asking?
I didn't say anything, the young lady said coldly and gave him three cards.
At the same time, he could hear four young people two stations away, feverishly discussing among themselves - it's good that she reminded us, it's so important!
He took the given cards and sat down at a free table (why behind the curtain, it's a free country!), then filled them out meticulously, putting crosses next to the Law and Justice candidates (at the Sejm he voted for a colleague, at the Senate he muttered something under his breath, but marked the candidate PiS), and clearly voted 4xNo in the referendum.
As he folded the forms to neatly drop them into the ballot box that stood proudly in the center, his eyes landed on the young lady again - she was looking at him, her eyes, if possible, even colder!
And then a strange thought occurred to him - if there are four members of the Commission sitting at the table (probably half, plus the manager?), if two of them are agitating against the referendum, and the other two, hearing it, do not react (this was the case when he collected the cards !) - so what guarantee do we have that this Commission (he defended himself against this, but the comparison came by itself - Rudy's crew?) will not take an equally "mandatory" approach to the very fact of counting votes?
After all, the progenitor of many of them said a long time ago - it doesn't matter who votes, what matters is who counts the votes!
Shooting away these terrible thoughts, he threw the elegantly folded package (he had previously taken a photo of it as a souvenir!) into the ballot box and left the premises. After returning home, he ate something, drank another cup of coffee and calmly waited for the match of our football team, which, under the leadership of the new coach, was to take another step towards advancing to the European Championship! Well, he did, but he was alert (and our team's performance was not impressive!) and at 9 p.m. he switched to TVP to see the long-awaited exit poll - the result made him a bit sad, so to console himself, he switched back to the match - and still nothing good here!
After our eagles' pathetic draw, he got dressed and went for a walk, thinking - I'll check the results, they've already been posted here on the door!
But he was very surprised - a dozen or so young people were rushing in front of the door, with some crumpled papers in their hands, shouting from time to time a well-known slogan - "fuck piss"!
These papers were also Voting Certificates, which the boys used quite freely, as he learned from another walker, many more of them were dropped off here before 9 p.m., and unknown benefactors provided Coke and pizza so that the poor youth would not get wasted in the queue!
A bit surprised, he returned home, thinking on the way about strange, new customs - a few hours ago he heard an exit poll on TV, and here the boys and girls (there were many more boys - signum temporis?), calmly, continued to vote for a few hours !
He turned on the TV, watched the reactions of the electoral staff (in one of them the local elite also shouted "Fuck Pis"), listened to partial data (interesting, turnout in the elections was still growing, and in the referendum it was still 40 percent?) and went to bed very late.
And before going to sleep, it occurred to him - I wonder if the National Electoral Commission, the Police, or anyone else will react in any way to these (false certificates, referendum card numbers, voting without electoral silence, after the polls were announced!), obvious electoral scams?
He didn't have time to answer this question because he fell asleep very peacefully.
See you.
