Greetings.
On Saturday, we watched the latest episodic screen adaptation of *The Doll* (*Lalka*) by Bolesław Prus on Netflix—a brilliant novel that, for many Poles, is—let us not shy away from the rather hackneyed term—a truly cult classic! But wait—is this actually a "film adaptation" of *The Doll*? The screenwriter and director—despite the fact that *The Doll* is packed with numerous, superb plot threads—added a few of his own out of nowhere. We see Łęcka—an aristocrat and suffragette à la Eliza Orzeszkowa (!)—wandering through dives and shooting up; a somewhat dim-witted Wokulski who spouts profanities; and Count Łęcki as a chronic alcoholic. These are just a few examples! Terms like pastiche, parody, or caricature fail to fully capture what director Maślona has perpetrated here; it seems to be simply a leftist, feminist, and "modern" (though Izabela didn't end up being a Black woman!) adaptation of Prus's masterpiece. After all, in that milieu, it is simply not done to film a "normal" version of *The Doll*—one free of idiotic, self-indulgent ideas meant to enrich and ennoble the "auteur"!
Still, it is only a movie, after all; far more dangerous is the horror—not cinematic, but all too real—that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is inflicting upon Poland!
That fellow told the truth for the first time in his life when, at the start of his term, he declared bluntly: "We will apply the law as *we* understand it!"
One might interject here a literary quote for Law and Justice’s scrapbook—"You had a golden horn, you boor, yet only the rope remains for you" (what the Straw Man said to Jasiek in the finale of *The Wedding*)—but there is no use crying; you have a new chance now—the upcoming elections, whenever they may be.
However, this is really a message for Morawiecki and his "Development Plus" scheme: if you don't come to your senses, Poland is going to be—pardon the expression—fucked!
Meanwhile, Tusk’s horde stubbornly doubles down, holding the law in contempt and banking on the hope that the majority of Poles will once again let themselves be deceived and re-elect his criminal outfit (the "December 13th Coalition"!)—a group for whom the good of Poland is an alien concept, and for whom EU directives (still backing the anti-Polish Tusk!) and a "reset" with Russia agreed upon with Germany represent the ultimate dream! This is confirmed by both the massive, unlawful attack on the AWS and the planned assault on the Constitutional Tribunal; only an idiot—or a "useful idiot"—would count on Tusk and his cronies backing down. These guys won't retreat, because the only thing waiting for them behind that is prison bars!
And Tusk’s henchmen are at it again—just this morning at six o’clock, government agents armed with long guns raided the homes of a *Republika* editor and a director from the President’s Chancellery. Even though both had fully cooperated with all previous actions taken by Żurek’s prosecutor’s office—showing up and giving testimony—they were detained, handcuffed, and hauled off to Rzeszów in an attempt to extort a confession. Nothing came of it; they stated their piece and, surprisingly, were not formally arrested, yet restrictive measures—surrendering passports, mandatory police check-ins, and bans on travel or contact—were meticulously imposed!
How does this square with the way Żurek’s prosecutor’s office handled Dr. Kacprzyk—a darling of the Tusk administration (involved in massive financial fraud and endangering patients' health and lives, not to mention securing VIP treatment for Civic Platform cronies to skip the line)? Not only was he never questioned, but no evidence was even secured in his case! Meanwhile, "Justice" Minister Żurek keeps repeating like a complete fool that a suspect must be questioned last, only after the prosecution has gathered the evidence!
Honestly, only a mindless drone consumed by hatred for PiS could believe this!
And "Doctor" Kacprzyk chimed in too—when asked about his scandal, he replied bluntly: "I don't give a shit!"
After all, that’s exactly where Tusk keeps the Polish people!
Proof of this lies in the reaction of "Judge" Korwin-Piotrowska to a *Republika* reporter simply asking questions—she called it harassment and claimed she’d notified every authority imaginable!
Leaving aside the absurdity of that "notification," this particular judge had sworn her oath "before the President" back in April—in the presence of parliamentary columns and the "Field Marshal" of the Sejm (a play on words: *Sejm WC* / *srałem na polu*—"I took a shit in the field")—but *without* the President actually being there. This completely undermines her legitimacy as a Constitutional Tribunal judge; after all, a judge cannot be an anti-Polish idiot who breaks the law!
It’s the same story with the Commissioner for Human Rights (RPO) and the Commissioner for Children's Rights (RPD)—both chosen by the "December 13th Coalition." The RPO hasn't reacted to a single one of Tusk's actions, while the RPD lashed out at a mother who was protecting her child from running into the street—even calling the mother a "whore" (pardon the language)—and then proceeded to involve the police and the courts to have the small children taken away from the mother and sent to an orphanage!
This is precisely the Poland of the Tusk era!
A word to our American brethren and the Polish diaspora: President Donald Trump delivered a brilliant speech at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he took aim at Cuba, Iran, and Russia—but that wasn't all. President Trump clearly emphasized: "I am a great friend of the Polish nation, and I want to thank, in particular, your extraordinary President Karol Nawrocki. Karol is a magnificent warrior, a strong man; I backed him, and he won!" Karol Nawrocki’s victory was the biggest election-related political event in Europe in the last 50 years! Bravo, Mr. President; it is a pity that many so-called Poles not only fail to realize this but actually work to the detriment of our President and Poland! And a message to you all: keep a close watch on the upcoming elections, because a loss for Trump is a loss for you! And by the way—the speech by Polish President Karol Nawrocki was, pardon me, even better. Will you forgive us?
We are returning to Poland while it still exists.
It has just been 50 years since the founding of KOR, and a grand celebration was held at the Royal Castle. Prime Minister Tusk said that the debt owed to the KOR members could never be repaid—which is true. Yet Tusk, who pays out millions to former secret police agents, has no money for the KOR members. And the fact that two of the KOR (Workers' Defense Committee—formed after the "health paths" beatings in Radom!) founders who are presumably still alive—Macierewicz and Naimski—were not at the ceremony... They feted only Kuroń and his cronies from *GW*—that’s the classic case of "the truth of life vs. the truth on screen": we decide who the hero is!
It’s the same story with Lech Wałęsa—I wrote here ages ago that there shouldn't be a word said about Lech; I remember him from the airwaves of Radio Free Europe, and that’s how it should stay—Lech, don't say another word! But Lech *did* speak—I remember it myself—"I signed something..."
And that wouldn't be the worst part—after all, anyone might have a dark chapter in their past—but lying is unacceptable!
But what Minister of "Justice" Żurek and his "female prosecutor" have just done is absolutely outrageous (what would our Nobel laureate say to this?)—they flat-out declared that Wałęsa couldn't have been an agent because he is illiterate and an utter idiot!
The very same Żurek who stated clearly: "We’re going to go after Święczkowski!" Perhaps it is 'Minister of Justice' Żurek who is the idiot, after all?
And in our "media market"—overwhelmingly taken over by foreign capital (reportedly 70 percent is in German hands—but what percentage does Poland hold in Germany?)—an American owner, a "pro-Trump" one at that (horrors!), is set to acquire TVN. Could things really be looking that good?
Time will tell, because as of today, only *Republika* (there are a few others, but they are still too weak!) defends Polish interests—Poles, defend *Republika*!
For it alone exposes the brazen actions of Tusk’s gang (not a word about it in the regime media!), who seek to seize the last bastions of Polishness—the Constitutional Tribunal and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland!
One might get worked up about it, but one thing matters: maintaining the right attitude toward "Tusk’s and *żurek*-soup-style scumbaggery," which simply cannot win—after all, the percentage of Poles among Poles exceeds 50 percent, doesn't it?
A word, too, on the murder committed by a Ukrainian (a Ukrainian army soldier?) at the Benedictine Sisters' convent in Jarosław: a priest killed, four people wounded. The guy was reportedly driving from Germany to Ukraine; he was stopped at the border because his car lacked insurance—yet they could have just let the guy go to hell—or rather, to Ukraine (after all, any investigation could have proceeded once his details were known!) and nothing would likely have happened. But our border services are "super"—they don't stop killers or terrorists known even from the internet, yet here—they certainly do!
So the guy followed his car to Jarosław and entered the convent there. ...and he snapped—he started "slashing Poles" with a kitchen knife; he killed one and seriously wounded four before he was neutralized (by whom?), and now we have the situation where the 31-year-old’s current mental state prevents him from participating in legal proceedings—so, a madman, then?
And the "Polish" leftists are already chiming in: "It was terrible, but what about the attacks by Polish fascists on poor Ukrainians now?"
And a quick comparison: Polish female officials (and the mother of the boy at his funeral!) were led in "combined restraints" (handcuffs and leg irons!), whereas the killer from Ukraine was led with his hands cuffed in front—is this what Żurek’s "justice" looks like?
I don’t feel like writing any more, because the Polish national team is about to play against Bosnia and Herzegovina (a small part of the former Yugoslavia!)—that great powerhouse—will we manage?
The motto is clear as day, but the title?
A free, sovereign, honest, and self-determining Poland—is that too much to ask?
